Ford Performance have recently announced the Australian expansion of its global one-make racing series, the Mustang Cup, from 2026.
Officially ratified by Motorsport Australia and the Australian Motor Racing Commission earlier this month, Mustang Cup Australia will provide a dedicated platform for drivers to compete in identical, factory-built machinery.
Mustang Dark Horse R is a track-only factory race car derived from the road-going Mustang Dark Horse. This turnkey racer is designed for competition, offering impressive performance and durability straight out of the box. Australian motorsport fans recently had a preview of the Dark Horse R’s capabilities on the global stage, where young Australian driver Cameron McLeod impressively won two Mustang Challenge invitational races supporting the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The integration into the SRO SpeedSeries platform will ensure the Mustang Cup benefits from strong event promotion and free-to-air television coverage, whilst balancing track time and entry fees for participants.
